CRAFT CLASS

Whether sewing, knitting, patchwork or other crafts is your thing ladies, this is the night for you!

We meet on the first and third Wednesday of every month at 7.30pm.

We begin our time with someone bringing a short message from God's Word followed by an opening prayer.

Some of the items we make go into the missions box to be sent abroad to help the work of Wakisa Ministries in Uganda. We also give a donation each week with the money going to mission. Last years gift was sent to 'River of Life Ministries' in Borneo and Sight Savers, a UK based international charity which fights avoidable blindness and promotes equal opportunities for visually impaired people.

Some ladies say they can't knit or sew, but at the end of a session it is amazing to see the beautiful items made - bags, wall hangings, toys, table runners, blankets, cushions, jumpers and much more.

So ladies, please come and join us. We enjoy a good chat as we work, and then to end the evening we have a lovely supper. Just come and learn a new skill. You will be so welcome.

LADIES BREAKFAST & BIBLE STUDY

The Ladies Breakfast & Bible study meet monthly at 8.30am on the third Saturday of each month.

It's a great time of fellowship over the breakfast table to share what has been going on in our lives and encourage each other while being served by the men who come so faithfully.

This sets us up well for our Bible study, which commences around 9am.

The 'Geared for Growth' series Bible study on the life of Joshua is what we've studied this past season (September to June). "Seeing how Joshua wholly followed the Lord has challenged us and helped us realise that it's God who makes the plans, God who gives the commands, and God who wins the victories.

The atmosphere is very informal and relaxed, with no pressure to take part, however, in practice, everyone finds they have something to say, and we often find it difficult to finish on time at 10am!

MENS BREAKFAST & BIBLE STUDY

The Men's Breakfast and Bible Study meet on the first Wednesday evening of every month at 7:30pm for coffee followed at about 7:45am with Bible study.

It is a great time of fellowship for the men, both young and old. It is an opportunity to get to know each other better, share together and to gain a better understanding of God's Word.

Everyone is happy to contribute but don't let that put you off coming - you can just sit and listen if you want! So if you're 18 or 99; well-versed or not well-versed in the Bible, it doesn't matter. Come along and enjoy the fellowship, banter and most importantly learn more about the Word of God.

We recently completed a study on Abraham and are well through our next study on 1 John - we have enjoyed some interesting conversations and debate together during the year.

We meet at the Church every month from September to June.

MUMS IN TOUCH

Our 'Mums in Touch' group is part of an international network of mums who meet to pray for our children, schools and teachers.

At AEC our definition of a mum includes Grandmothers and any women with a mother's heart who want to pray with us.

We meet to pray from 9am to 10.30am every Wednesday morning.

We each take turn to lead with a passage of scripture, or something that we have read, or maybe play a song that has touched us.
Following a time of thanksgiving and silent confession, we begin to pray for our children and friends, the children of the church, friends in Australia, a young boy in Gran Canaria, schools in Newtownards, and also Malta, Gozo and Glasgow. We also pray for the christian teachers and headteachers.
Our morning ends with prayers for upcoming AEC events, prayers for the sick, and any who have specially asked for prayer.

When we look back each year at our Mums in Touch prayer times, we are amazed how our prayers have been answered. We know other prayers will be in God's time. We have a great God.

Lamentations 2:19 "Pour out your heart like water, lift your hands to Him for the lives of your children."

BIBLE STUDY & PRAYER MEETING

We are convinced that it is necessary for the people of the church to come together, as one, to pray and be found in His Word.

We meet for Bible Study every Thursday night from 8.00pm, where Pastor Geoff studies through books of the Bible.

We meet for prayer every Sunday evening in the upstairs study from 5.45pm until 6.15pm, before the evening service, and also in the main church sanctuary every Thursday night, after our 8pm Bible Study, from 8.30pm to 9.15pm.
