This year saw the forming of a Care Team at AEC with the aim of obeying Jesus’ command in Matthew 22:37 “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart & with all your soul & with all your mind.’ ... And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’” by prayer and also a practical demonstration of love to those of the church fellowship in need.
It is also our hope in Christ to “pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding.” Romans 14:19 that the church body may be encouraged.
The Care Team have begun by praying for, sending cards and visiting church members – some, who have been unable to attend church often due to ill health, others during or after recent bereavement. We've also met some for tea/coffee and a chat.
We also plan to visit people at home for nights of praise & fellowship, so if you would like encouraged in this way or know of anyone missing out on church fellowship, please contact the Care Team. We would be greatly encouraged if those other than the Care Team were to attend.
Though we have gathered under the banner ‘Care Team’ this work will be of greater benefit if we all as a church take note of those people in need, and join together in unity as the church body to love and encourage them. We'd also greatly value your prayers for the team.
We as your Care Team will be best enabled by communication, so if you are in need, or know of anyone in any need please contact us. Though you may feel your problems are small in comparison to someone else’s, if they’re troubling you, they still are a problem. We’d love to help.
There is much need for love, encouragement, support or listening ears in any church, with the many problems we all encounter.
We greatly need Jesus. We also need each other.
